The seasoned manager has become into something of a Championship guru, leading teams, typically through the play-offs, either to promotion or away from relegation.
Having played and managed in England his entire career, the 74-year-old is eager to emphasise his availability to Scottish clubs as offers become fewer.
Derek Adams succeeded Malky Mackay as the fourth Premiership manager to be fired; the only other managers in the top division to have remained in their positions for longer than two years are David Martindale and Derek McInnes.
As Warnock is heard on Sky Sports, the Daily Record quotes him as saying:
