Another weekend and another two dropped points for Celtic in the race to the Scottish Premiership title.
Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Aberdeen on Saturday marked Brendan Rodgers’ team’s fourteenth loss of the season, and it gave them a chance to gain ground in the title fight.
Due to the team’s bad performance, the club’s January transfer activity and the reasons behind their sparing use of the £70 million in cash on hand were brought to light.
However, Michael Stewart is utterly perplexed by one song that Celtic did not create. The BBC analyst claims that Celtic ought to have “been brave” and invested £5 million to acquire Bojan Miovski, a striker from North Macedonia, in January.
According to Stewart [Scottish Football Podcast], “The transfers they made in January don’t seem to indicate that they really put everything into it, so maybe—to use Brendan Rodgers’ own words—they weren’t as bold as they could have been.”
“Lee Miller just mentioned Bojan Miovski.” Bojan Miovski would be an excellent addition to the Celtic team as an option.
You’re telling me that Aberdeen would have a very hard time saying no to £5 million, and that Celtic could not have spent even £5 million.
Nevertheless, they haven’t, and I’m not sure why.
