The atmosphere at Celtic Park has come under scrutiny following the Green Brigade lockout, with former Hibernian striker Tam McManus describing the ambience as ‘crap’ during Celtic’s recent 4-1 victory over Hibs.
Due to “repeated incidents of unacceptable conduct,” the Green Brigade has been barred from both home and away games since November. There is currently no indication as to when their ban will be lifted.
About 250 supporters are currently locked out of Parkhead.
The atmosphere in the stands was noticeably different due to the absence of the Green Brigade, as McManus noted. Even though Celtic played brilliantly on the pitch and kept their league-leading lead, the normally boisterous and energetic support from the terraces was noticeably absent.
Using X, the former Twitter platform, the PLZ analyst stated:
“The only fans I could hear were a small group of Hibs fans in the corner. The atmosphere at Celtic Park is terrible.”
Not only does McManus share that viewpoint, but so do a lot of other fans who attended the game on Wednesday night.
BHOYS Celtic, who had the opportunity to improve the atmosphere, are standing in solidarity with the Green Brigade by boycotting games and leaving their section empty.
