17-year-old makes England Under-18s debut in 1-0 win over Morocco.
As the first Cheltenham Town representative to represent England, Tom King has created history.
The 17-year-old attacker played for the Under-18s on Saturday afternoon at the Marbella Football Centre in their 1-0 victory over Morocco.
An hour into the match, Dursley native King made his Three Lions debut by taking Samuel Amo-Ameyaw’s place for Southampton in the second half.
In the tenth minute, Amo-Ameyaw scored the lone goal to give head coach Ryan Garry’s team the victory.
The Young Lions’ mini-tournament in southern Spain started last week with a 1-1 tie against Belgium.
They play Korea Republic in their third and final game on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
Their final game before departing for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia the following month will be that one.
