Following the deaths of four people in a Bradford house fire, including three children, a man has been detained on suspicion of murder.
A 29-year-old woman also passed away at the scene, according to West Yorkshire Police. Three children—a five-year-old boy, two girls, and a nine-year-old girl—were transported to the hospital but later passed away from their wounds.
According to the police, the incident was domestic in nature and the fire was intentionally started.
Just after two in the morning on Wednesday, the fire service called for officers in response to reports of a house fire at a property on Westbury Road, the force said.

A 39-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
“This is an absolutely devastating incident in which three children and a woman have lost their lives,” stated Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson.
“We continue to pray for their loved ones, friends, and family.
“We have detained one man on suspicion of murder after preliminary investigations reveal that the fire was intentionally started.
“He was injured in the fire, and as a result, he is critically ill in the hospital today.
“Although our investigation is still preliminary, we currently believe the incident is domestic in nature.
“Anyone who was in the vicinity during the incident, or who has doorbell or CCTV footage, is urged to come forward.”
