Done deal; Bears made a significant trade on the day of the NFL’s deadline.

Week 8 for the NFC North is officially in the books and the story this week was all about the quarterbacks.

Week 8 for the NFC North is officially in the books and the story this week was all about the quarterbacks. From Kirk Cousins injury to Tyson Bagent and Jordan Love struggling, the quarterbacks were the talk of the division for this week, for all four teams.

Then there’s Lions quarterback Jared Goff, who connected with tight end Sam LaPorta for an 18-yard touchdown just moments before the end of the first half on Monday night. Preseason predictions never really had Goff as the best quarterback in the NFC North but this season has proven that anything is possible in the NFL.

Speaking of anything being possible, the month of November is set to be an intriguing one for the NFC North. The Bears and Vikings will meet on Monday Night Football, the Packers and Lions will meet on Thanksgiving Day, and somewhere in between, Chicago and Detroit will meet. That means November will have an impact on who ends up winning the NFC North.

Each team in the division also has a number of questions that will be answered between now and the remainder of the season. For instance, the Bears, who await the return of quarterback Justin Fields, need to decide whether or not he’s the guy. The Packers are in the same boat with Love. Meanwhile, the Vikings and Lions will have decisions to make on their veteran quarterbacks in 2024, with Cousins likely gone but Goff remaining in town should Detroit keep on winning.

As the season officially reaches its second half, let’s recap week 8 of the regular season, including a special focus on each of the four quarterbacks that started for each NFC North team this past weekend. And as always, we’ll look ahead to each week 9 matchup for each NFC North team.

Let’s get into recapping week 8.
