FC Cincinnati to land £4.5m Wolves star in January’ –

Mosquera has just finished up a loan spell with FC Cincinnati, which pathways manager Steve Davis recently described as ‘outstanding’.

Wolves must now decide what to do about Mosquera.

According to journalist Julian Capera, Wolves would prioritise finding a European club for the Colombia international if he was deemed unfit for the first-team.

It’s also been speculated that Mosquera could be loaned to a Championship club next, and journalist Liam Keen has now made a new claim in response…

Wolves defender Yerson Mosquera as huge interest from the Championship

On the latest episode of the E&S podcast, Mosquera came up in conversation.

The £4.5 million signing is viewed as a future first-teamer by the club, and the talk was about whether he could perhaps come in now and do a job.

Keen has said that Mosquera is definitely not short of interest should Wolves wish to send him out on loan again.

He said: “The making of him will be his next loan. Which is more likely than not, because he’s set to come back and O’Neil is going to have a look at him and see if he thinks that he can push and play in the first-team.

“But it’s been worded to me as more than half of the Championship clubs have enquired about him. So there is a lot of interest in the Championship. Wolves have pretty much got their pick of the teams, and they can pick the loan that is going to suit him in terms of game time and style.”

Mosquera to the Championship is logical

Unless Mosquera is ready for Premier League play right now, which seems improbable, a Championship loan would be a natural next step.

Mosquera, a £4.5 million signing, was great in the MLS, but he now need a significant step up for his next transfer.

The Championship is a challenging competition, and the football style will be more akin to the Premier competition than the MLS.

Wolves have had great success in the past with sending younger players to Championship clubs, so it makes sense to send Mosquera there as well.
