Quarterback AJ McCarron of the Cincinnati Bengals has parted ways with the team after the latter agreed to his request to be released so that he might pursue a career in the UnitedFL. PHNX reporter Howard Balzer claims that McCarron informed the Bengals of his wish to be released from his contract so he could rejoin the St. Louis Battlehawks, the team he played for the previous season when the league was still known as the XFL.

QB AJ McCarron requested his release from the Bengals, who made the announcement today, in order to rejoin the UFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks, with whom he previously played in the XFL. learning that Thursday is when he will formally sign.
Not long after his request, the Bengals made the move to end their partnership with the former Alabama Crimson Tide star.
QB AJ McCarron’s contract with the Bengals was formally cancelled today, allowing him to sign with the STL Battlehawks. would have likely been a UFA on March 13, but the UFL season doesn’t start until March 30. On February 24, players go to the training camp; on February 26, they take a conditioning test; and on February 27, they have their first practice.
McCarron had a 6-3 record in nine games (all starts) with the Battlehawks in 2023. He completed his passes for 2,150 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In addition, he gained 100 yards and a touchdown on 29 rushes.
Despite the fact that the NFL is the most glamorous football league, McCarron appears to have made the decision to follow a path that will allow him to witness more activity on the pitch. There’s simply no chance Michael McCarron can unseat Joe Burrow as the starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals.
