QB Deshaun Watson Remain the leader- coach…

On Monday, Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski declared that quarterback Deshaun Watson is still “the leader” of the team. Watson was cleared following a concussion exam in the first quarter of the Indianapolis Colts game, but he did not play again on Sunday, falling to them 39–38.

After the game, Stefanski stated that Watson, who had missed the previous two games due to a shoulder injury, was being protected by him. On Monday, Stefanski reiterated his opinion. “I’m always going to be protective of my players, especially at the quarterback position,” Stefanski stated. “Just felt like the right thing in that moment was to hold him out of that game.”

Before departing, Watson only completed 1 of 5 throws for 5 yards and an interception. P.J. Walker took his place, and the Browns (4-2) won for the second straight week. Following the victory, Stefanski announced that Watson would return for Sunday’s 4-2 road game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Stefanski declared, “He’s our starter going forward.” “In Seattle, he is our starting. I simply will always make the choice to keep our players safe.” Following the game, Watson stated that he respected Stefanski’s choice to keep him off the field. “I wish to participate. “I’m a rival,” Watson declared. “I want to go out there and play, perform, and compete while also attempting to support the team as much as I can. But P.J. did a fantastic job of bringing the game to a close, and the squad believed it was the best course of action.” Against the Colts, Walker completed 15 of 32 passes for 178 yards and one interception.

In four games this season, the 28-year-old Watson has completed 61.7 percent of his passes for 683 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.
