Coventry City have been linked with a swoop for the midfielder this summer along with Championship rivals Hull City and Middlesbrough.
At the end of this season, Kraev’s contract expires, leaving his future uncertain. He is 25 years old.
Here are three options that the Sky Blues should consider.
Luca Connell
The 22-year-old has made a name for himself in League One for Barnsley. At the end of this season, the Tykes may have to fight to hang onto him, particularly if they don’t receive a promotion under Neill Collins.
Connell was acquired by Celtic as a young player after rising through the ranks at Bolton Wanderers. After that, he lived in Glasgow for three years until returning to England in 2022 to settle in Oakwell.
Connor Barron
He has had a great time at Aberdeen this year and has a bright future in the game. After recent loan stints away to further his development at Kelty Hearts, he has emerged as a vital member of the Dons.
It is unclear if he will stay put when his contract with Neil Warnock’s team expires in June. According to a WalesOnline story, Swansea City is reportedly interested in him, but Coventry would be a better fit for him.
Marc Leonard
The Sky Blues would be wise to sign the Scotsman to increase competition and diversify their midfield options. While out on loan at Northampton Town, he has drawn attention.
Although Leonard is a member of Brighton & Hove Albion’s roster, it is unlikely that he will make an impact in the Premier League. He would therefore be wise to permanently transfer to the second tier.
