Coventry City is one of the best clubs in the Championship#

Since the Sky Blues have been playing well lately—following their heartbreaking loss to Luton Town at Wembley last year—Mark Robins’ team is once again in the running for the play-offs. As a result, they are continuously considering ways to bolster their roster in preparation for the remaining games of the season.

Ultimately, it was a month of both arrivals and departures.

For instance, midfielder Victor Torp of Denmark joined the team for an alleged £1.2 million fee, while Kyle McFadzean left permanently to join Blackburn Rovers.

Below is a comprehensive list of all the ins and outs.

Coventry City sign Ephron Mason-Clark

One transaction that sticks out from the others as a very exciting addition for the team is the permanent signing of Ephron Mason-Clark, who will spend the remainder of the season on loan back to Peterborough.

On the day of the transfer deadline, the club completed the deal, and Mark Robins said to ccfc.co.uk, “We are delighted to agree the transfer of Ephron to Coventry City.”

“He is a pacy and exciting forward, who plays off the left, and has a great attitude both on and off the pitch.

“We’re really pleased to bring Ephron to the Club and we’re sure that our fans will be too, although we will have to wait until the summer to see him in a Sky Blue shirt.”

Ephron Mason-Clark’s League One statistics

Mason-Clark is an extremely exciting talent, as Robins mentioned, and has been one of League One’s standout players thus far this season.

His signing serves as a reminder that Coventry City is among the EFL’s and Championship’s best-run teams.

With 15 goals and eight assists in all competitions so far this season, the 24-year-old, who primarily plays on the left but can also play across the front line, has been in fantastic form for promotion-chasing Peterborough United.

As you can see below, he ranks highly in a number of metrics when compared to his League One peers this season. His statistics are equally impressive.

The most admirable aspect of the Coventry deal, aside from the fact that they signed a player who is developing and performing well right now, is that the player will be finishing the season at Peterborough, which shows how well-run the team is.

While Darragh MacAnthony orchestrated that specific caveat, the fact that Cov were willing to agree to it showed their desire to get the winger before anyone. It is evident that the Sky Blues do not feel he would benefit from entering things mid-season, and as a result, rather than forcing that, they have allowed him to finish the successful campaign he is currently having with Posh.
