Mark Robins has revealed that Coventry City loan player Jack Burroughs has been involved in a serious car accident during his impressive spell at Lincoln City.
The 22-year-old has appeared for the League One team in 33 games across all competitions, mostly at left wing-back. If not for a few injuries and a vehicle accident, he may have participated in a few more games.
The day before New Year’s Eve, he was driving on the M1, when his automobile struck some surface water on the highway, went out of control, and struck the center reserve. The adaptable midfielder, who can play in midfield, on the left, or right, was lucky to escape unharmed, even if he had to miss the journey to Blackpool on New Year’s Day since his car was totaled.
When asked about the Sky Blues Academy alumnus’s relationship with the Imps, Robins disclosed: “Jack has participated in a substantial number of games prior to suffering an injury and being involved in an automobile accident.” Thankfully, he was unharmed, even though the car wasn’t. He’s also accessible, despite having recently sustained a minor injury that, in my opinion, had little to do with the collision.
Burroughs expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play as many games as he did in a short amount of time and his belief that he had made a good contribution to the squad.
“I hope I can continue that for the rest of the season. I just want to repay the faith the coaching staff has put in me.”
