Coventry city on the verge to sign Liverpool attacking left-back>

Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as the Sky Blues are reported to have expressed an interest in taking Anfield prospect on loan this January

Several Championship clubs reportedly made an attempt to sign the rampaging Liverpool full-back Owen Beck, including Coventry City. Prior to manager Jurgen Klopp exercising the Reds’ recall option due to an injury problem at Anfield, the 21-year-old was receiving excellent reviews while on a season-long loan at Dundee.

The Scottish Premiership team saw the attacking left-back play in 20 games across all competitions, and in October, his outstanding play earned him his first senior Wales call-up. According to The Athletic, a number of League One teams and several Championship clubs, including Coventry City, Stoke City, Millwall, and Hull City, asked about signing him on loan for the second half of the season. “Those attempts were rejected,” the paper states.

Naturally, the Sky Blues have two left-backs who are competitive: Jake Bidwell and summer acquisition Jay Dasilva. However, Beck is thought to be most at ease in a higher wide spot, which Dasilva has filled a few times recently.

Additionally, it is said that the Wrexham-born player, who began his career at Stoke before moving to Liverpool’s Academy as a young adolescent, has drawn interest from Scottish powerhouses Celtic and Rangers.

Beck might have been part of Klopp’s matchday roster for the FA Cup match against Arsenal last weekend, except for a one-encounter suspension stemming from bookings he incurred while participating in the Scottish League Cup group stage against Bonnyrigg Rose and Inverness Caledonian Thistle in July.

Despite not being used as a substitute in Liverpool’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Fulham last week, he was mentioned in the matchday 20 lineup. And when the Reds play Norwich City in the FA Cup fourth round at the end of the month, he very well could get to make his senior debut.
