Coventry City transfer with three heading for the exit door*

CoventryLive provides Coventry City transfer news, with the Sky Blues coach acknowledging that the team will be offloading players prior to Thursday night’s transfer window deadline.

Mark Robins says he doesn’t anticipate adding any more players to his Coventry City team before the transfer market closes on Thursday. But the Sky Blues manager acknowledges that one or more senior players, if not two or three, may be leaving.

This month, City made one high-profile addition when they signed Victor Torp for £2.1 million from Norwegian team Sarpsborg. However, they were unable to complete an ambitious move to sign Argentine winger Benjamin Rollheiser, who chose to sign with Benfica, or young midfielder Josh Stokes, who signed with Bristol City, the team that played them last night.

When asked if he plans to add any more players throughout the remaining days of the season following Tuesday night’s 2-2 tie at the CBS Arena,

the mid-term window, Robins told CoventryLive: “I don’t think so. I think that is it in terms of ins.”

He said, “Oh, I think there’s at least one going out,” in response to the question of whether there will be any. Three outs are possible, but there may only be two!

When asked if they were senior players, he responded, “I’ll let you know.” Although there will inevitably be some moving out, I believe that we really need to attempt to keep everyone together.

In the meanwhile, supporters may relax knowing that there are currently no bids for elite players. The manager responded, “Umm, no,” when asked if the team had received any offers for any of its players, specifically mentioning Callum O’Hare because of his contract predicament. This will likely have to do with cutting expenses and ensuring that our overheads are reasonable. I tell you this all the time: we need to be careful not to go over budget.

“It’s obvious that we want to bring in better players but we have got really good players in the building, players who have helped us get to where we are now. I heard Doug (King) say the other day about upgrading, and I think we have upgraded in a number of positions but I think it’s difficult to do that everywhere.

“Undoubtedly, we must make the most of what we have and strive to keep them healthy because, as a tiny group, even one injury can have a significant effect. We need to control the issue because if there are two, it begins to appear disastrous. That’s the task, though.

When asked if third-choice goalkeeper Simon Moore, midfielder Liam Kelly and defender Kyle McFadzean—all of whom were left off of the matchday roster against Bristol—fit into the group of senior players who may be surplus, he replied, “We’ll have to wait and see.” We’re currently at the status quo, but I’ll let you know if anything changes with anybody.
