Amid his fantastic form for Sporting CP, Gyokeres could soon be on the move again – and that would benefit the Sky Blues greatly
Gyokeres has seven goals and four assists in 10 Liga Portugal outings, including a goal against Lisbon rivals Benfica before the international break.
He also scored his first hat-trick for the club in a 4-2 Allianz Cup win against Farense in early November, as well as goals in his first two UEFA Europa League matches against Sturm Graz and Atalanta before being sent off against Rakow in Poland.
With 13 goals and five assists in 18 matches in all competitions already though, the future is clearly bright for the Sweden international.
Do Coventry City have a sell-on clause for Viktor Gyokeres?
According to the official documentation presented by Sporting in November, as cited by the Coventry Telegraph, the Sky Blues do have a sell-on clause, and if they didn’t, they’d be receiving a horrible bargain.
Their sell-on clause is now 15% of the next amount Gyokeres receives, but that proportion might be cut to 10% if the striker meets the criteria required for Sporting to pay the add-ons to Coventry within that time frame.
It’s still a decent enough figure though – especially when you take into account what Gyokeres may be valued at now.

Gyokeres is being watched by some of Europe’s ‘elite teams’ due to his good form for his current club.
According to trade expert Fabrizio Romano, despite only being at his new club for a few months, the Swede is already making an impression on scouts.
Gyokeres’ accomplishments in European competition will further boost his profile, and we’ve seen in the past that doing well in Liga Portugal may pave the way for a significant future move.
A transfer is unlikely to be on Gyokeres’ mind right now, but if he maintains his form into the summer of 2024, Sporting could face a difficult decision if offers come in.
