INTERVIEW: Yasin Ayari talks at Coventry and ambitions during his loan

Yasin Ayari has settled in well to life at Coventry City, scoring his first goal for the Club on Monday night against Huddersfield Town.

The midfielder was on the end of an Ellis Simms strike, which cannoned back off him and ended in the back of the net.

Ayari told how he has enjoyed his start with the Sky Blues and is relishing the challenge that awaits him and his side this season.

How he has settled in…

“I’m finding it really good.

“The team mates are good and everyone around the club is doing a great job to make me settle in good and feel welcome. So, I feel good.”

Joining with other new faces…

“There’s new players, new faces, but as a football player, that’s your job and you have to get used to it quick because you have to perform out on the pitch and the faster you do it, the better you become on the pitch.

“I’ve come here to play to, to feel the joy and to play a lot of games and to be happy and that’s the only thing I think about.”

His first goal the other night…

“Not much to say.

“Ellis did all the hard work and I just stood there, and the ball bounces off me.

“I thought I was offside, so I just went to the ball to make sure it goes in and then I turned around and he didn’t put up his flag, so I was surprised but it was nice to get a goal.”

How he’s finding Championship football…

“It’s a good level, high intensity, good players in every team and I’ve noticed that you cannot go out to a game and think you can beat this team one hundred percent.

“It feels like everyone can beat the everyone, but I think we’re a really good team and I think I can develop a lot from this league.”

Meet Yasin Ayari! - YouTubePlaying in the middle…

“I’m a central midfielder but in this team, we play with the three centre midfielders.

“So, we play with a six and eight and a ten, so it doesn’t matter for me I’m, I’m a good player and I can adapt my position.”

The Sky Blues supporters…

“I enjoy the support. I see them come to the game, even away games like you say there are a lot of fans.

“I enjoy it very much and I’m so happy that they are supporting us even now because we’re not going at the best but yeah, I feel the support and I enjoy it.”

Aims for his loan spell…

“First and foremost, I came here to play that’s the most important thing.

“I don’t think too much about scoring 20 goals or making 20 assists. I just came here to play, to enjoy and to get more confidence and to get more experience and that’s the main target for me right now.

“When you do that the goals and the assists will come as a bonus.”
