Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds United, has expressed his admiration for Coventry City and described how he sees this weekend’s match between the two teams going.
With a game remaining and only one point separating them, Leicester City is currently one point behind Farke’s Leeds team in second place in the Championship.
Playoff pursuit Sky Blues are well favoured for a late surge into the play-offs after winning three of their previous six games.
Farke is fully aware that Mark Robins’ team has continued to perform well this season and that their performance at the CBS Arena has been largely responsible for it.
“You have to show compactness if you want to be successful against good sides,” he said at his pregame press conference.
“You will lose if, in the first five minutes, you lose your composure and try to overwhelm your opponent. Neither team is in a “do or die” situation. A point could be worthwhile. With grace, we enter this game. Play it tight. Ensure that we are compact in relation to the ball.
“Prove our worth in the last three seconds. A game with numerous goals might occasionally result in a deadlock, or vice versa. Having trouble making my own projections.”
With enough opportunity, Farke praised his opponent, saying: “I have the utmost regard for Mark and the work he has done over a number of seasons. Incredible work during the play-off final; after key players left, he rebuilt it.
“What he has accomplished, the way they perform in the league and cup, and the way he guides his group is exceptional. He deserves a lot more recognition. deserves to be the centre of attention more. Among the best coaches at this level, no doubt. Among the top teams in this division. We travel with confidence and with respect.”
