Mark Robins outlines secret formular to get job done against Man Utd ahead of FA Cup clash

Robins, who was a member of the Red Devils in the past, has acknowledged his excitement over the draw.

  •  FA Cup draw against Manchester United is special for Coventry City, according to Mark Robins
  •  Robins used to play for the Red Devils.
  •  Coventry have some of the ingredients needed to cause Erik ten Hag’s side problems.

Speaking to BBC Radio CWR, Coventry City manager Mark Robins disclosed that his team’s FA Cup draw against Manchester United is particularly meaningful.

The Sky Blues, captained by former United player Robins, have advanced to the competition’s final four after defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 on the road on Saturday.

Ellis Simms and Haji Wright’s stoppage-time goals at Molineux secured the Championship team’s trip to Wembley. With Leicester City’s elimination against Chelsea on Sunday, they are the only second-tier team remaining in the competition.

It’s no secret that they are the underdogs to win the competition; the other three teams still in the cup are the Blues, the Red Devils, and fellow Premier League powerhouse Manchester City.

However, one could argue that they have a strong draw secured.

Even though Mauricio Pochettino’s team barely defeated a few lower-division rivals in the FA Cup this season, Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils haven’t always played up to par and are constantly the target of media attention.

That being said, this isn’t exactly Ten Hag’s fault, as United hasn’t performed well overall since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.

Robins on Coventry City v Manchester United: “It’s a brilliant occasion”

Not even an attempt has been made by Robins to minimise the significance of the semi-final for his team.

“It’s definitely special to draw United,” he said in an interview with BBC CWR. It would have been exceptional to draw any one of those teams, though.

Being in the cup at this point with the best clubs is a feat in and of itself, if you look at the remaining teams.

“I came through there at United when I was a child. However, I now undoubtedly support Coventry City.

It takes place at Wembley. This is a wonderful occasion. We need to devise a strategy that will allow us to participate in the game and track its progress.”

Coventry City have the right ingredients to cause Manchester United problems

With his size and knack for scoring goals, a dangerous Ellis Simms could end up being a real pain in United’s side.

Another player to watch out for is Haji Wright, an attacker who has experience playing on the biggest stage. Wright even scored during the World Cup the previous year.

They can use some great ingredients from across their team to give themselves the best chance of advancing to the final.

Another player with the ability to change the game significantly is Callum O’Hare, who will be eager to show why he deserves to play at the best level the following season.

Because he has been a great fit for the Sky Blues and has led his team to a significant upset in the most recent round, Robins must also be viewed as a dangerous weapon. This will undoubtedly incite fear in the hearts of some United supporters.
