Robins finally identifies two key players to strengthen his side#

CoventryLive provides Coventry City transfer news, with the Sky Blues boss speculating that outgoing business may reach the deadline day wire.

Coventry City’s transfer window is still closed, and Mark Robins is refusing to divulge any information about any new additions, even when numerous attempts have been made to get details out of him. When asked if anything is going on at every pre- and post-match press conference, he usually replies, as he did before the trip to, “Nothing at the moment.”

When asked about the claims made by a relatively well-known and generally trustworthy transfer news specialist that the club is working on a “ambitious” deal in the European market where they are vying with a rival for the signing of the mystery player, he reiterated his position from the previous week, saying: “I said there’s nothing happening unless we get a surprise.” Still nothing is happening.

Of course, it will ultimately surface, as it almost always does. But like with Victor Torp’s arrival, Sky Blues supporters will have to wait, at least for the time being, for the link to surface in the international press first.

Simon Moore, the team’s third-choice custodian, is a clear prospect to be let go this month. It remains to be seen, though, if he can find a suitable club for the rest of the season. When asked about his possibilities, 33-year-old Robins replied, “Nothing up to now that I know of,” then made the prediction that any transfer would probably go through the wire on February 1st.

“I believe that if anything is going to occur, it will be closer to the window’s end,” he stated. “I am not aware of anything bubbling at the moment, but it might even go to the last day.”

Two veteran players, Liam Kelly and Kyle McFadzean, are currently without a game and seem to have fallen well down the hierarchy, so their futures are still up in the air this month. Although they have both been excellent employees and have contributed much to the club’s success recently, the truth is that they are itching to play.

Fadz has already stated that if he were to find himself out from the club for an extended period of time, he would not hesitate to apply for a loan in order to play, and with Torp’s arrival, it seems like Kels’ time is running short. However, Robins will undoubtedly make sure he has enough players in his team.

When asked if he would make an effort to maintain the same numbers in the event that a senior had the chance to go out, he responded, “Well, that depends on a lot of factors.” Firstly, as long as everyone stays fit, I am pleased with how the team is now assembled. It’s a small amount, so it’s possible that we’ll find ourselves back where we were at the beginning of the season if players start getting injured.

“We have to try to minimise their exposure to the red zone, that they talk about,” he continued, conveniently changing the topic. “We also need to make sure that players are taken care of and maybe rest them if we think there is fatigue.” It isn’t a precise science. You have to observe how they behave and act because it all matters, and if there are any indications of that, I have to decide.

Sometimes it’s just my opinion, the player’s opinion, and the medical staff’s opinion. There are many factors to take into account, but, thank God, we are currently in a good enough position to move forward.
