hearth-breaking incident after horrific explosion leaving casualties in Crewe

Two people have died – and another two are seriously hurt in hospital – following a crash in Warrington. The collision – involving a white Seat Leon and a silver Nissan Note – occurred on the A56 Chester Road, Walton, at 6.08pm on Sunday (November 10).

The driver of the Seat, a 65-year-old man, and the rear seat passenger of the Nissan, a 42-year-old woman, sadly died at the scene. Two other passengers in the Nissan were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three engines – from Warrington, Runcorn and Lymm – attended the scene. A spokesperson said yesterday evening: “Firefighters are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision involving two-vehicles at the junction of Hobb Lane and Chester Road in Daresbury, Warrington.

In a further update the service said: “Firefighters have released a number of casualties that were trapped in vehicles and they have been taken to hospital. Crews will be leaving the scene shortly.”
