Crystal Palace now agree “ridiculous” forward who is the ultimate Olise replacement

Prior to Selhurst Park’s summer transfer window in 2024, Crystal Palace is ‘chasing’ Hull City winger Jaden Philogene, a source from Edmund Brack of the South London Press reports.

Head coach Oliver Glasner is getting the Eagles ready for their first market as he looks to improve his team before the 2024–2025 campaign begins.

Due to a wave of injuries to their front line this season, Palace has failed to score goals and may try to expand their offensive alternatives. Philogene is having a fantastic season in the Championship, and the Premier League will be interested in signing him in the summer transfer window.

The Aston Villa academy product joined Hull last summer

Hull City winger Jaden Philogene is being watched by Crystal Palace, according to the South London Press. In 23 games, the 22-year-old has scored eight goals and provided six assists for the MKM Stadium this season. He joined from Aston Villa for a rumoured £5 million during the summer transfer window of 2023.

Given his track record, Philogene would be the best choice to replace Michael Olise, who has the interest of several elite Premier League teams, including Manchester United. In addition to sharing Olise’s quick feet, the current Hull star can also contribute goals and assists on a regular basis.

The London-born winger gained notoriety in February when he scored a “ridiculous” goal against Rotherham United. Manager Liam Rosenior praised the playmaker for using excellent skill to beat his opponent and then deflecting a rabona into the goal.

Numerous teams in the Premier League and throughout Europe are keeping an eye on Philogene’s development, in addition to the Eagles. Negotiations with the Humberside team are complicated since the England U21 international has three years remaining on his present contract with Hull and Aston Villa has first refusal over any future agreement.

Dougie Freedman has enjoyed success in recruiting from the second-tier

The Championship would not be Crystal Palace’s first source of squad reinforcement if they made a bid for Philogene. Dougie Freedman, the sporting director, is the one who has lifted Adam Wharton, Michael Olise, and Eberechi Eze out of the second division.

Given that Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are apparently interested in Olise and that his current contract has a £60 million release clause, it appears more likely than not that he will be moved this summer. With the current Palace star’s future at Selhurst Park looking increasingly bleak, Philogene might step in directly.
