Crystal Palace set to sign £15m striker with 70 Premier League goals’

Crystal Palace are currently looking to sign Danny Ings from West Ham.

This is according to Sky Sports.

So, what is the issue with Danny Ings and Crystal Palace? Let us have a look.

Crystal Palace want Danny Ings

It is no secret that Roy Hodgson’s team lacks goals.

Only Burnley and Sheffield United have scored fewer Premier League goals than Crystal Palace, who have 22 in 20 games this season.

According to Sky Sports, Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman are now attempting to change that by signing Ings.

The 31-year-old has battled for playing time under David Moyes this season, recording only one Premier League start.

According to Sky Sports, Wolves are interested in signing Ings, who has 70 goals in 215 Premier League appearances.

Crystal Palace has previously targeted West Ham’s No. 18.

The Guardian reported in July 2018 that Crystal Palace was ratcheting up its efforts to capture Ings from Liverpool, only for Southampton to eventually agree to a deal with the Reds.

Problem for Crystal Palace

Despite his lack of play at West Ham this season, Ings could wind up sticking in east London.

Sky Sports report the Hammers presently have no plans to trade the £15 million England international following injuries to Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen, with Moyes hesitant to diminish his attacking options any further.

As a result, Ings will need to press for an exit this month, and even if the Winchester-born forward does ask to leave, there is no guarantee that West Ham will approve his request.

If West Ham reject the forward’s move, Freedman might make an offer for Arsenal’s No.14 Eddie Nketiah, while Getafe striker Borja Mayoral has also been linked with a move to Selhurst Park.

Keep a watch on this issue, though, as anything can happen this month.
