Crystal Palace takes front seat to land 27 year old striker>

According to talkSPORT, Crystal Palace, Everton, and Southampton want striker Che Adams.

Just three points separate Southampton from Ipswich Town for the automatic promotion slots in the Championship standings. This season, Russell Martin’s team has performed admirably to transform a rough beginning into a great run of play that puts them in a good position to place among the top two.

Adams, 27, has contributed significantly to that. In twenty-three Championship appearances this season, the Scottish international has seven goals and two assists. He assisted on eight goals in the Premier League the previous year, and he has long been connected to a transfer out of the Saints.

According to a talkSPORT report, Crystal Palace, Everton, and Wolves are the most recent Premier League teams to be mentioned. It continues by saying Southampton is hoping to get about £6 million this month for its striker.

Every January is the same; clubs recognise their inadequacies and require reinforcements, but because no team wants to sell, deals are hard to come by and are highly expensive.

With just two weeks remaining in the window, Southampton could certainly use the money they would receive from an Adams move, but finding a replacement would be challenging.

Ross Stewart, a former Sunderland player who would have been an ideal substitute for Adams, was recruited to Martin’s team in the summer, but it is unlikely that he will recover from his injury in time for the season to end.

A deal seems less likely as time goes on, but it will be intriguing to watch if any of the elite teams interested make a bid that prompts the Saints to explore their options.

Southampton’s next match is an early kickoff on Saturday at Swansea City.
