Palace wins Newcastle in fight to sign man-city midfielder>

The Premier League teams and the England international have been heavily connected in recent days as Manchester City works to loan out Phillips.

Sheth has now determined who Phillips is most likely to join, with Palace winning out for the transfer journalist, when appearing on Transfer Talk.

Sheth stated: “It’s looking more and more likely that he will play in the Premier League starting on February 1st, and Newcastle has expressed interest.” All I can wonder is if they will really go after him considering Joelinton might be out for the duration of the season, if not longer.

However, Roy Hodgson’s press conference from yesterday was fascinating. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a manager be so forthright about his club’s interest in a player at another team.

And he said, “Let’s see if we can work something out; it will all rely on what Man City wants to do. It also depends on our ability to pay him. Most likely not, would they require Manchester City’s assistance?

“Many things would have to line up perfectly for a deal like that to go through. Because he has been so transparent about it, if you were to ask me right now which teams are the favourites, I would have to say Crystal Palace.

Although Phillips would naturally choose Newcastle given their midfield injury crisis and pursuit of European football, Palace might be a better fit for the City player.

The South London team has, as we all know, experienced remarkable success with Premier League loan agreements over the years, and Phillips might find his form again in time for the Euros at Selhurst Park.

Furthermore, Phillips will be drawn to the opportunity to play alongside players like Michael Olise. Should the 28-year-old decide to join Palace in January, he has the potential to blossom into a midfield star.
