Investigation underway as man dies after Cumbria crash

Two days later, an 89-year-old man who was a passenger in a car crash on a Cumbrian road passed away in a hospital.

The crash that happened on August 22 on the A685 close to Grayrigg is being looked into by police, and they are pleading with witnesses to come forward.

The single vehicle involved in the 5.20 p.m. collision was a blue Vauxhall Astra.

Both the 89-year-old passenger and the 85-year-old driver were transported to the hospital.

Ronald Simpkins, a passenger from Yarm, Stockton-on-Tees, passed away on Saturday, August 24.

Since then, the driver has been discharged from the hospital.

Many witnesses were present at the scene, some of whom offered assistance and support to the driver and passenger, according to the officers. To aid in their investigation, they would be delighted to hear from those individuals.
