Road closed after serious crash in Cumbria

It is recommended that drivers heading eastward adhere to the Solid Triangle diversion symbol found on road signs.

A major collision has caused the A590 in Cumbria to be closed in both directions between the A592 (Newby Bridge) and the A5092 (Greenodd).

At Greenodd, turn off the A590 and onto the A5092.

Proceed to Lowick Green on the A5092, and then make a right turn onto the A5084.

Proceed to Torver on the A5084, and then turn right at the A5084/A593 intersection.

Proceed towards Ambleside on the A593, after which bear right onto the A5095 for a brief distance, and then right again onto the A591 eastbound.

Take the A592 (Bowness) exit, the third one off the roundabout at Windermere.

Take the second exit at the Bowness mini-roundabout and proceed on the A592 to Newby Bridge, where you will rejoin the A590.

It is recommended that motorists heading westward adhere to the Solid Square diversion symbol displayed on traffic signs.

At Newby Bridge, leave the A590 and merge onto the A592 heading towards Windermere.

At the mini-roundabout in Bowness, take the first exit onto the A592.

Take the first exit onto the westbound A592 at the next roundabout.

Turn left onto the A5095 at Ambleside, then continue on the road until it meets the A593.

Proceed to Torver by making a left turn at the intersection onto the A593.

Make a left turn onto the A5084 in Torver.

Proceed to the intersection of the A5092 and A590 at Greenodd by turning left onto the A5092.
