A list of current deal the team has made

Tuesday, October 31, 2023, is quickly approaching and there are undoubtedly a number of things that many of us would like to see the Dallas Cowboys do.

Nothing is ever truly out of the question when it comes to trading; the main concern is always if the price is correct. Everything needs to make sense in terms of the cost you are paying, the player you are obtaining, the contract you are taking on, and so on.

Given that the Cowboys made a deal only one year ago today, shortly before the 2022 deadline, we thought it would be helpful to refresh everyone’s memory to compile a list of every trade the team has made in the past year.

James Harrison and Roger Goodell represent the perfect example of a workplace dynamic going to shit. Employee severely breaks the rules by repeatedly engaging in illegal hits. Bossman lays down the punishment of hefty fines. Leaving the employee to respond with an extremely pointed threat

  • Cowboys Sent: 2023 6th
  • Cowboys Received: DT Johnathan Hankins & 2024 7th

March 14th, 2023 trade with Indianapolis Colts

  • Cowboys Sent: 2023 5th
  • Cowboys Received: CB Stephon Gilmore

March 19th, 2023 trade with Houston Texans

  • Cowboys Sent: 2023 5th, 2024 6th
  • Cowboys Received: WR Brandin Cooks

April 29th, 2023 trade with Kansas City Chiefs (during 2023 NFL Draft)

  • Cowboys Sent: 2024 5th
    • Cowboys Sent: 2024 5th
    • Cowboys Received: 2023 6th (used to select CB Eric Scott Jr.)

August 25th, 2023 trade with San Francisco 49ers

    • Cowboys Sent: 2024 4th
    • Cowboys Received: QB Trey Lance

August 29th, 2023 trade with Miami Dolphins

  •  Hankins trade has been fine
    – Gilmore trade is ok but would have been better with Diggs in there so more safety help for Gilmore. Cowboys might get lucky and May happen anyway because I think Bland is gonna be a star cover corner. Can’t wait to pair up Bland and hopefully 100% healthy Diggs in 2024
    – Cooks trade has been disappointing. Banged up and hasn’t really been utilized downfield. Not sure if that’s play calling or chemistry between Cooks and Prescott is still off.
    – Has Scott even suited up for the Cowboys? On a side note, the Cowboys should stop drafting old rookies like Scott and Schoon who are 25 year old rookies
    – Noah I has scored a special teams touchdown but basically unplayable on defense which is similar to the player he wa traded for (Kelvin a Joseph). Bland went down against the 49ers and immediately attacked Noah with a big play to Aiyuk.
So 2 trades that are ok, two that’s under water, 1 treading water and 1 N/A (Lance deal).
  • It is well worth it if we can exchange a player who starts for a year for a sixth or seventh round choice. For the third-day choices, the odds are not good. There is no distinction between them and UDFAs. It therefore appears wise to trade those choices for veterans. It is not advisable to trade first-round choices for wide receivers. Many of the people in this room are too young to recall the Cowboys trading Joey Galloway for TWO first-round selections. I’ve forgotten about the other #11 because Micah Parsons is wearing it.
