Man killed on A12 after lorry crash as police shut down road in Dartford

Sadly, the man who was hurt in an accident involving an HGV on the A12 passed away from his wounds. On Monday morning, August 5, emergency personnel raced to the scene near Sandon on the A12.

Police were notified of the collision during the morning rush hour. The 44-year-old male tragically passed away at the scene, according to a statement released by Essex Police on Wednesday. There were lengthy lines at the Howe Green intersection and on the A12 during the roughly four hours that the road was stopped.
The male victim was admitted to the hospital on Monday in a critical condition, according to a statement made by the East of England Ambulance Service Trust immediately after the event.

“A man has died following a collision at the junction of the A12 and A414,” an Essex Police official stated. On Monday, August 5, at around 8:55 a.m., we received a call regarding reports of a significant collision involving a pedestrian and an HGV.

“We had to stop the road while emergency personnel worked, but the 44-year-old guy tragically passed away on the spot. We are still looking into the incident.

“Firefighters were called to an incident on the A12 between Junction 17 and Junction 18 at 9.01am this morning,” an ECFRS spokesperson stated at the time. Crews on scene verified there was only one victim underneath a car. By 9.24 a.m., they had completed the victim’s rescue and turned the matter over to the police and ambulance service.”
