Emergency services including police and paramedics rushed to the scene
Following an automobile-biker collision on the M25 near Dartford on Saturday, August 14, a motorcyclist sustained injuries. The accident happened on the carriageway travelling anticlockwise between Junction 2 (for the A2 and Darenth Interchange) and Junction 3 (for the M20 and Swanley Interchange).
At 1:35 p.m., emergency personnel from South East Coast Ambulance Service crews and Kent Police officers were called to the area. Officers from Highways joined them, blocking off two lanes on the congested section of the highway so the emergency services could operate.
As a result, there was soon severe traffic congestion on the M25 in the opposite direction, which at its worst caused delays for cars of about half an hour. An early update from the travel and traffic tracking provider Inrix stated: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M25 anticlockwise from J3 M20 J1 (Swanley Interchange) to J2 A2 (Darenth Interchange).”
A spokesperson for Kent Police told KentLive : “Kent Police was called at 1.35pm on Saturday 3 August 2024, to a collision involving a car and a motorbike on the anticlockwise carriageway of the M25, between junctions 3 and 2. Officers and paramedics are currently at the scene where the motorcyclist is being treated for injuries that are not described as life-threatening.”
