RB Javonte Williams presence to Broncos ahead of Week 5 very crucial.

Colorado’s ENGLEWOOD — Running back Javonte Williams, who is expected to start against the Jets in Week 5, returned to practice on Thursday.

Williams (quad) was a limited participant after missing practice on Wednesday. Due to his injury, the North Carolina product was forced to leave Denver’s Week 4 game.

Both wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (knee) and inside linebacker Josey Jewell (hip) made progress as they were both full participants on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday.

Denver’s victory in Week 4 was Jewell’s absence from last week’s practice.

There were still several restricted participation players, including outside linebacker Frank Clark (hip), center Lloyd Cushenberry III (quad), defensive tackle Mike Purcell (ribs), and safety Justin Simmons (hip).

Outside linebacker Baron Browning, who was expected to practice again but is still listed as Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform, continued to take part in it only to a limited extent while he recovers from a knee injury.

Safety P.J. Locke was taken off the injury report even though he was also cleared to practice again. NFL regulations provide that a player who is eligible to return and takes part fully in the first session of the week may be taken off the report if his situation stays the same in subsequent practices. The player must thereafter be noted on the report if his practice status changes.

Outside linebacker Randy Gregory missed practice again on Thursday (not due to injury; club decision).
