BREAKING; “DERBY BOSS SET CHALLENGE TO DEFEAT OPENET”

Derby County, Derbyshire newsLive as Rams center back anticipates three League One games in a week

Prior to a demanding week that starts tomorrow (Saturday, September 30, 3 p.m.), when Derby County takes on Cambridge United, Eiran Cashin wants the team to start gaining momentum.

The Rams take on Mark Bonner’s team at Pride Park before traveling to Blackpool and Cheltenham the following weekend for back-to-back away games. Derby has won four of their last six matches overall, including their previous two victories over Carlisle in League One and Lincoln City in the EFL Trophy.

Since Portsmouth is the only team still unbeaten, the Rams’ crucial defender Cashin is looking for a run from the squad that will help them climb the table.

I can’t disagree with Paul Warne regarding Derby County’s outstanding entertainer

Max Bird returns and there are defensive changes in Derby’s anticipated starting lineup against Cambridge.

Cashin said to Rams TV after consecutive victories: “We’re happy, honestly. They are the foundation, in my opinion, and we must move forward. Being able to record two straight clean sheets now is huge.

“I’m hoping we can build on that and start a run. Although there are definitely aspects we can improve on, good teams occasionally don’t play at their peak but still manage to win games and keep clean sheets. We’re crossing our fingers that we can build on that and start doing extremely well. Everything is possible when a run comes together.

After having a rocky start to the season and finding himself at the center of transfer rumors that persisted right up until transfer deadline day because Brighton were unable to close a deal, Cashin now appears to be back to his old self.

However, the defender claims that more work needs to be done. He claimed: “On Saturday, I was far more out of possession and defending compared to the game last Tuesday (against Lincoln). There are certainly areas where I can improve, but I’m hoping to build on those skills for Saturday’s game versus Cambridge and the ones that follow. The momentum should take care of itself, hopefully.
