Rams’ top scorer defies the odds after suffering a nasty knee injury, according to the most recent Derby County news from DerbyshireLive.
James Collins, who plays forward for Derby County, will return to the pitch next week, according to Paul Warne. However, the Derby County player will not be available to play against Blackpool on Good Friday.
Collins had feared he wouldn’t return before the season ended, but he has recovered remarkably quickly from a knee ligament issue. However, he has recovered from his treatment so well that Derby’s top scorer is taking a big step in the right direction towards a comeback.
Warne was asked if the 18-goal forward would be available to take on Neil Critchley’s team when Derby plays Blackpool on Friday. To which he replied, “I don’t think so.
“To give himself a boost, he might participate in some light training at the end of the week, but additional training will be necessary.” The good news is that he’s not a Usain Bolt and he won’t mind if I say that he has excellent muscle memory.
This implies that he won’t need to undertake extensive sprint training prior to returning. He has really strong physical attributes. His injury wasn’t just a sore calf.
“He can play through pain, so it’s unlikely that he will require the customary two or three weeks of grass training to regain his form. We may be able to reheat it slightly, and we will need to do so because we will require his return.”
