It was revealed last week that Rovers had tabled new contracts to Hakeeb Adelakun, Harrison Biggins and Luke Molyneux.
Now, a report claims there has been a breakthrough with the latter. Pete O’Rourke, a respected transfer specialist, claims that Molyneux has rejected offers from two rival League Two clubs to pen a new deal at Rovers.
“Doncaster Rovers have seen off competition from MK Dons and Gillingham to convince Luke Molyenux to sign a new deal at the club.”
One of Rovers’ standout players, Molyneux helped the team secure an unexpected play-off berth in 2023–24. He finished the season with 10 goals and eight assists as Grant McCann’s team staged an incredible finish, only to lose to Crewe in the play-off semi-finals.
Molyneux’s resigning has not yet been confirmed by the club, but if it is, it will be a major boost to the team’s aspirations of being promoted the next year. Joe Sbarra joined on a free transfer earlier this week after Rovers defeated other EFL teams to acquire the highly-regarded midfield player.
