Duke basketball target Caleb Wilson will watch the Blue Devils and Tar Heels battle next month.
Holy Innocents Episcopal School (Ga.) forward Caleb Wilson has held a Duke basketball offer since July and been on UNC’s wishlist since May. And on Feb. 3, he’ll be in the Tar Heels’ Smith Center for the archrivals’ first clash this season, his father informed recruiting insider Adam Zagoria on Wednesday night.
It’s still to be determined whether the 6-foot-10, 205-pound five-star’s visit to UNC that weekend will be of the unofficial or official variety.
Wilson, who is ranked No. 4 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has already visited Stanford, Auburn, and Kentucky on official visits. He hasn’t ruled out the Blue Devils from his recruiting, but there’s no word yet on any plans to visit them in Durham.
This is a sample of On3’s Wilson scouting report:
“Caleb Wilson is naturally tall, has a fantastic frame, and pops. He moves effectively in confined spaces, plays exceptionally well in phone booth situations, and has the footwork to break free with the ball in the half court. He has patience and a go-to comfort zone over his left shoulder. He is explosive around the basket. He plays quickly and can push the break. He can execute a wide range of offensive moves at different skill levels.”
The 2025
Seven additional five-star prospects are included in the 2025 Duke basketball offer sheet, which hasn’t seen a commitment or rejection: guards Cayden Boozer, Meleek Thomas, Brayden Burries, and Jalen Haralson; and forwards Cameron Boozer, Koa Peat, and Nate Ament.
Peat and the Boozer twins are the only players the Tar Heels and Blue Devils have targeted for 2025, along with Caleb Wilson.
