Duke basketball recruiting target takes official visit to school

VJ Edgecombe, a basketball recruit for Duke, is making another formal visit.

VJ Edgecombe, a basketball prospect for Duke, has made it quite evident that he will thoroughly enjoy his time being courted by several programmes.

In July, 5-star winger Edgecombe of New York revealed his final 10 picks, which included the G-League Ignite, Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Michigan, St. John’s, Miami, Florida State, UConn, and Duke.

The star player from Long Island Lutheran (NY) just wrapped up his formal visit to Durham last weekend. Cooper Flagg, the top prospect in the Class of 2024, and five-star forward Patrick Ngongba II also paid the Blue Devils a visit on campus.

But, Kentucky made an offer to the No. 6 player in the 247Sports Composite rankings after he released his trimmed list, and it’s obvious that the 6-foot-5 wing would consider what Jon Calipari has to offer.

VJ Edgecombe accepted an offer from the Wildcats in mid-September, and this past weekend he made his first official trip to Kentucky.

He has already made official visits to Baylor, Florida, and Michigan in addition to Duke. In the upcoming two weeks, he will travel to Alabama and Florida State.

Springtime recruitment for Duke basketball is possible.
It appears quite likely that this specific recruiting class will extend well into the high school basketball season, possibly even into the spring, when coaches will be using the transfer portal to try to fill out their rosters.

According to 247Sports, Duke has the No. 4 recruiting class for 2024. Four-stat wing Darren Harris and 5-star prospects Isaiah Evans and Kon Knueppel have committed to the Blue Devils.

While Ngongba II will declare his choice between Kansas State, Kentucky, or Duke on November 4, Flagg will make his announcement about his college choices at any time. Many analysts predict that Flagg will choose Duke over UConn.
