Last Unsigned Duke Basketball Commit Reveals Plans

On Wednesday, the first day of the eight-day early signing period, four of Duke basketball’s five 2024 recruiting prospects signed their contracts.

These four recently signed Blue Devils are five-star forward Cooper Flagg of Montverde Academy (Fla.), five-star forward Kon Knueppel of Wisconsin Lutheran, five-star center Patrick Ngongba II of Paul VI Catholic (Va.), and four-star wing Darren Harris of Ngongba’s high school team.

Furthermore, there is no reason for concern regarding the other member of Duke’s top-ranked recruiting class, five-star forward Isaiah Evans of North Meck (N.C.). This is in contrast to recent rumors that seem to have been sparked by a post from national recruiting insider “Trilly Donovan” suggesting that one of the Blue Devils’ commits might be reconsidering.

On Thursday afternoon, Evans announced that he will sign his national letter of intent on Monday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. It’s likely that he isn’t signing sooner because it’s the day of his school’s senior athlete signing ceremony for college.

Head coach of Duke basketball Jon Scheyer, 36, stated he won’t speak on potential 2024 prospects until all of the existing pledges are signed during his news conference on Thursday, ahead of the Blue Devils’ home game against No. 12 Arizona on Friday night.

However, he did express how happy he is with the collection.

“I’d rather talk about all of them at once,” Scheyer noted, as NCAA rules prohibit coaches from commenting on recruits specifically until they sign. “I can tell you that I’m very proud of this class.

“It has great versatility.”
