Edinburgh City fans suffer fresh attacks from Alloa supporters’

Edinburgh City condemned the crime, which occurred just days after a crippled Raith Rovers teen was assaulted by Dunfermline fans.

On Saturday afternoon, a gang of Alloa Athletic supporters allegedly ‘attacked’ two teenage Edinburgh City FC fans outside the Indodrill Stadium.

It is understood to have taken place outside the KFC fast-food store on Clackmannan Road near Athletics’ home pitch in the League One match where they overcame city 3-1.

According to Edinburgh Live, medics and security responded quickly when the two teenage supporters were left in need of assistance on January 6. It was unclear if the attack occurred before, after, or during the game.

The City of Edinburgh condemned the social media abuse. A message on X, formerly Twitter, read: “Edinburgh City wishes to convey our profound disgust after two of our young fans were attacked by a gang of opposing fans outside KFC opposite from the Indodrill Stadium.

“We’d want to thank @AlloaAthleticFC, the security, and the medics for their incredible assistance. No fan should be hurt while attending a football game.

The incident occurred just days after a band of thugs assaulted a crippled Raith Rovers teenage fan following their 2-1 Fife derby victory over Dunfermline Athletic, shocking the football community.

The 18-year-old, who is deaf, was viciously beaten by up to 12 adolescents on Tuesday, and the incident was filmed and uploaded online.

Following several incidents involving fans at Scottish football games this season, manager Ian Murray has urged supporters to act appropriately.
