Edinburgh police seize £250k worth of narcotics in raids on city neighbourhood’

The huge six-figure drugs haul was discovered as police officers searched addresses in Lochend, with Police Scotland confirming that a five-figure sum of cash was also found

Police Scotland collected a significant narcotics haul from residences in Lochend, east of Edinburgh.

The cocaine bust occurred at 11.40 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, when police acting on a warrant searched premises in Lochend Quadrant and Lochend Road South.


Police revealed that the substances, which are thought to be a mix of diamorphine, crack cocaine, and cannabis, have a total street worth of £247,500. Officers also recovered a five-figure sum of cash during the operation.

Two men, aged 57 and 30 years, have been arrested and charged following the find. They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, 12 January 2024. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Inspector Gavin Howat, Edinburgh Pro-active CID, said: “Officers will continue to disrupt the supply and possession of drugs in our area.
