Woman arrested in connection with death of a man in Edinburgh’

She is the third person to be arrested over the death of Marc Webley.

Police have detained a woman in connection with a man’s death in Edinburgh on Hogmanay.

The woman, 33, is the third person detained in connection with the death of Marc Webley, 38.

He was allegedly shot outside the Anchor Inn bar on Granton Crescent in the Granton neighbourhood of the capital on December 31 at around 11.50 p.m.

Mr Webley was rushed to the hospital alongside a 39-year-old male, but he died shortly afterwards.

Grant Hunter, 32, and Emma McVie, 25, both from Edinburgh, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, accused of murder.

They were also charged with attempted murder, assault to serious injury, and endangerment of life.

They entered no plea and were remanded in custody till a future court appearance.
