“Saka withdraws from England squad and decision confirmed”

Bukayo Saka withdraws from the England squad owing to injury, and a replacement decision has been made, Despite Raheem Sterling’s form, the Three Lions will not call up a new forward.

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has pulled out of England’s squad for matches against Australia and Italy.

Saka has been out with a hamstring injury sustained during Arsenal’s Champions League loss to Lens last week.

The winger was unable to train all week and thus missed Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Saka will not be joining England for the forthcoming international break, according to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

However, the 22-year-old reported to St. George’s Park with the rest of the England squad on Monday afternoon.

The England medical staff inspected him there, and it was determined that he would continue his recuperation at Arsenal.

England has chosen not to call up a replacement, and Gareth Southgate will work with a roster of 25 players in their future fixtures. There had been calls for Chelsea’s in-form winger Raheem Sterling to be reintroduced.

The Three Lions will play Australia in a friendly at Wembley Stadium on Friday before facing Italy in a Euro 2024 qualifier on Tuesday.

During that period, Saka will return to Arsenal and focus on his rehabilitation from the hamstring issue that has plagued him.

The injury is not considered significant, and he is expected to be ready to face Chelsea when the Premier League resumes next week.

Arsenal is also hoping that William Saliba will be available for the encounter against Chelsea on October 21 at Stamford Bridge. Due to a toe injury, the centre-back has withdrew from France’s team.
