Confirmed: Another Everton star injured after suffering calf injury Goodison News

Amadou Onana misses Everton draw v Brighton due to calf injury – Sean Dyche

Amadou Onana, an Everton midfielder, was sidelined for the team’s 1-1 draw with Brighton due to a calf injury, as revealed by Sean Dyche.

The Belgian was shockingly left out of the starting lineup for the match at Goodison Park, as Idrissa Gueye entered the team to take his place. The Toffees had won five of their previous seven games going into the match.

Additionally, manager Dyche stated prior to kickoff that the 21-year-old has been dealing with the ailment for some time and that, following such a short interval between games, it has become too much for him.

“Unfortunately, after Wednesday, it’s just been too much for [Amadou], who has been playing with a really tight calf,” stated Dyche (4 November).

Shock

With that slightly deeper role in the Everton midfield, where he and James Garner balance the duty of driving forward and giving a steady base, Onana has established himself.

We witnessed how much Gueye’s absence may have cost us against Brighton. Gueye lacks Onana’s strength, speed, and technical ability, which made it difficult for us to counterattack successfully, create a serious midfield goal threat, and maintain possession.

Dyche has to reintegrate Onana into the team, and since he is now a vital member, a protracted absence would be disastrous.

With Andre Gomes and Dele Alli already off due to personal injuries, it may leave the Toffees lacking in midfield depth.

Hopefully, he can heal in the next seven days as there isn’t a game; if not, we need to figure out how to manage without him as Gueye isn’t the solution.

In other Everton news, Dyche and Dele Alli had a private conversation following Andy Gray’s grilling.
