Revealed: Everton offer 7-figure sum as talks underway

Sources: As Tottenham talks begin, Everton makes a fresh offer for Dele Alli.

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Everton is attempting to renegotiate the terms of Dele Alli’s transfer by offering Tottenham a seven-figure sum.

Alli, 27, currently has a £10 million contract with the Merseysiders that will kick in if he plays seven more games for the team.

The midfielder was permitted to leave Spurs for Goodison Park on an initial free transfer, and Sean Dyche has confirmed that Everton director of football Kevin Thelwell has held fresh discussions with the team in recent weeks.

The cost was not charged until after Alli, whose contract expires in June 2024, has participated in 20 Toffees games.

Only 13 times has he appeared in an Everton game; he hasn’t played for the team since August 2022.

EvertonLater that month, the former England international left for the Turkish powerhouse Besiktas in a move that ultimately failed.

In fifteen appearances for the Istanbul club, he scored three goals.

Alli isn’t expected to play for Everton to reach the 20-game mark unless Tottenham agrees to lower the potential transfer fee.

Spurs are now back at the negotiating table as a result of that.

Due to an injury he sustained while in Turkey, Alli, who has recently been transparent about his battles with addiction and mental health issues, has not yet been included in the matchday squad this season.

Although Dyche has acknowledged that he is back on the field, the first team is not yet practicing with him.

The 27-year-old’s best Premier League season came in 2016-17 when he notched 18 goals and nine assists in 37 appearances.

He has racked up 51 goals and 37 appearances in 194 appearances in the English top flight.
