Overjoyed as Fabrizio Romano reveals Everton are set to agree deal with big player.

During the Premier League game between Everton and Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in Nottingham, manager of Everton Sean Dyche

Abdoulaye Doucoure, a midfielder for Everton, is expected to sign a contract extension with the Merseyside club “very soon,” according to Fabrizio Romano.

Since Sean Dyche took over as manager of the team in January, the Mali international has emerged as one of the Toffees’ most vital players.

One of Dyche’s greatest achievements since coming to Goodison Park has undoubtedly been Doucoure’s readmission into the Everton first team after he was locked out under former boss Frank Lampard.

The midfield player has made the most appearances of any Everton player in all competitions under Dyche, with 26 games and eight goals.

In the season-ending match against Bournemouth, Doucoure also netted the game-winning goal that kept Everton in the Premier League, cementing his place in the illustrious history of the team.

Due to Doucoure’s current contract’s expiration at the end of the current campaign, there has been significant conjecture over his future. However, it appears like the 30-year-old will be committing to Everton in the future.

Doucoure about to sign a new contract with Everton
Doucoure is expected to sign a new one-year contract with Everton “very soon,” according to Romano. The deal will contain an option for an additional year.

Romano said on X, the platform that was once known as Twitter, “EXCL: Abdoulaye Doucoure, set to sign new deal at Everton very soon.”

The understanding is that a new deal, which will last until June 2025, is about to be sealed.

There will be a June 2026 option. Deal in its latter stages, ready for completion.

In light of this, it is likely that Doucoure will sign a new contract with Everton very soon.

Undoubtedly, Dyche will be praying that the midfield player can help Everton avoid relegation once more this year and, ideally, turn around their dismal results from the previous campaign.
