Kevin Nicholson issues strong statement ahead of Stevenage clash..

The Grecians come into the game having picked up 11 points from the last five matches and face a Stevenage side on the cusp of the play-off places, though Steve Evans’ side have gone seven matches without a win.

Both matches in league and cup this season have finished 1-1 – City succeeding on penalties in the Carabao Cup – and Nicho expects another tight encounter.

“They do not concede many goals, and are very good at what they do. We have found a way to hang in there with them at their place when we went down to ten men,” Nicho said.

That’s most likely what occurs when there are stylistic conflicts. Since the games have been close, I anticipate that both teams will stick to their strategies and give it their best.

“Steve Evans is a manager who is well-versed in his methods and expectations. He and Paul Raynor train it extremely well together, so good work to all of them. We need to be prepared for the clash of styles that will take place on Saturday; from a coach’s perspective, it will be exciting to see.

“They have some physical and agressive players we have to try and neutralise.”
