Man’s death treated as ‘unexplained’ after body found in canal in Falkirk

Police have launched a probe into an “unexplained” death after the body of a man was found in a canal in Falkirk.

Emergency services were called to a body of water near Union Road in Camelon on Friday at around 11.30am.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police Scotland said enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson said: “Around 11.30am on Tuesday we were called to a report of a body in the water near Union Road in Camelon, Falkirk.

“Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
