The Orange and Blue are excited to host the New England Revolution at Walter Campbell Sports Park, their home training facility, for the year’s last preseason friendly, marking the return and increased proximity to FC Cincinnati full-fledge matches! It will kick off at 1 p.m. I’m Carter Chapley, your friendly neighbourhood staff writer (yes, without the hyphen, but still, respect it!). I’ll be positioned at the pitch to cover the whole game.
FCC played the Revs in a friendly two weeks ago in Bradenton, Florida, roughly 90 minutes south of here, and now they head back to New England. In the 120-minute friendly, FCC won 2 nil thanks to two goals from Aaron Boupendza. It’s a return match today.
Unlike the previous two friendly, which lasted 120 minutes, this match will follow the usual schedule of 90 minutes plus a halftime break. This is the penultimate practice before heading to Kingston, Jamaica to play Cavalier in the Concacaf Champions Cup. After that, it’s back to TQL Stadium for the opening day of the 2024 MLS season. It’s also the last chance to be fit for 90 minutes and begin deciding on strategies.
The last three games saw replacements made during halftime; however, today’s game will resemble a typical competitive encounter in appearance and atmosphere.
Before kickoff, return here for lineups, weather reports, and more throughout the morning. I’ll keep you informed about all the highlights and excitement! I’ll return with updates at noon, see you then!
