Featherstone Rovers have suffered a tumultuous 2024, with the club struggling both on and off the field. Rovers have consistently competed for the top spot in the Championship in recent seasons, however, this year they sit in fourth place, eight points behind leaders Wakefield Trinity, having lost four games already this season.
Current club chairman, Mark Campbell, has been severely criticised by fans and staff, as the club has entered financial difficulties. According to City AM, the club were subject to a winding up petition from Investec.
They have also faced allegations from former players, including Mark Kheirallan and Craig Hall, that they have not received payment and are owed money from the club.

Featherstone Rovers have had a difficult 2024; the team is having difficulties both on and off the field. Rovers have been a regular contender for the Championship’s top spot in previous years, but after dropping their first four games of the year, they are currently in fourth place, eight points behind Wakefield Trinity.
The club’s current chairman, Mark Campbell, has come under heavy fire from employees and supporters as the team is having financial issues. City AM reported that Investec had filed a winding up petition against the club.

umors that the team was considering signing three players from the Dewsbury Rams, a rival Championship team. Dane Chisholm expressed his outrage about the reports on social media. Chisholm wrote, “Pay me first,” on X, a previous Twitter platform. Next, sign for anybody you choose.
Chisholm represented the club between 2019 and 2022, playing 38 games for Featherstone before leaving to join the London Broncos on loan, and then Keighley Cougars on a permanent deal. Chisholm returned to Rovers in 2023, playing six times in their Championship campaign, scoring three tries.
The announcement that Paddy Handley, a former Leeds Rhinos star and Featherstone player, would be joining the board of directors was encouraging for Featherstone in recent weeks. Handley, the Managing Director of PMJ Masonry, was a Featherstone player for four years.
This action is thought to be the first step toward additional funding for the club by a group of investors. As Handley joined the board, he stated:
