GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – University of Florida Police Department Officers arrested seven people and ejected 44 people at the Gators football game against the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday night.
Two people were arrested for entering the field, three for battery on a law enforcement officer, and two for trespassing after receiving a warning.
Tampa resident Alexander Munson, 22, and Spencer Williams, a 21-year-old from Virginia followed the Gator Band out onto the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium around 9 p.m. after hearing announcements that fans were not allowed on the field. They are charged with trespassing after receiving a warning.
Charleston Davidson, 19, of Ponte Verda Beach, was ejected from the game for disorderly conduct and intoxication. Officers say they issued a verbal warning of trespass and escorted Davidson out of gate 13. Later in the evening, Davidson was seen in section 37. He was arrested for trespassing after receiving a warning.
UFPD officers attempted to escort 22-year-old Dawson Lincecum of Perry out of the stadium for vaping when he became argumentative and tried to attack the officers. In an effort to assist her son, Pamela Lincecum, 56, grabbed the officer’s vest and kneed him in his right thigh area several times.
21-year-old Macie Sousa of Gainesville was ejected from the game for disorderly conduct and intoxication. Officers say they issued a verbal trespass warning for the game and escorted Sousa out of gate 13. Later in the evening, Sousa was seen in section 24. She was arrested for trespassing after receiving a warning.
The ejections were made for the following reasons:
- Disorderly Conduct – 15
- Intoxicated Person – 8
- Entering the field – 2
- Smoking – 2
- Wrong Section – 8
- Alcohol Possession – 4
- Ticket Swapping – 2
