League Two strugglers Forest Green Rovers have signed Manchester United midfielder Maxi Oyedele on loan until the end of the season.
The Salford-born 19-year-old has played for Poland’s Under-19 team but joined United at the age of eight.
During his National League loan stint with Altrincham last season, Oyedele netted four goals in 12 games.
Rovers head coach Troy Deeney remarked, “Maxi is a wonderful talent and we’re extremely lucky to have him here.”
“The fans will enjoy watching him and we need to make sure we get him in a place where he can showcase his talent.”
“Very excited” to join Forest Green, Oyedele claimed he would “bring energy, professionalism and quality” to the team.
“I’m going to go all in and let go. I’ve come here because I think we can get up the table, and I’ll be doing all in my power to support that,” he stated.
Maxi has made the decision to wear the number 22 jersey and will be paired with former Red Devil Charlie McCann in the starting lineup. He goes on to become United’s sixth window departure.
Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney, who scored 47 goals in the top division of England, will be Oyedele’s manager.
