JUST IN:Troy Deeney ‘sacked by Forest Green after six matches>

The Sun columnist and former Watford striker was only named the League Two team’s head coach on December 20.

However, in his six games as manager, Deeney was unable to lead the team to victory, and as a result, the team finished bottom of League Two and seven points outside of safety.

Just hours after Forest Green Rovers owner Dale Vince blasted Deeney for his tough-love tactics with the League Two underdogs, saying that the former Watford player had made “a mistake,” he was reportedly fired on Thursday.

After publicly criticising his teammates on multiple occasions and asserting that he required reinforcement in January, Deeney made headlines. He also said that the club had “too many babies.”

Dale Vince acknowledged that he believed his boss Troy Deeney had erred in his tough-love approach with his Forest Green Rovers team.

The 35-year-old has struggled to make a smooth transition into management at a team that is fighting to stay in the Football League since hanging up his boots in December. Under his direction, the team has drawn three games and lost three.

Following his outburst, Deeney himself disclosed that he had been the target of egregious racist taunts, sharing on social media the horrifying correspondence that he had received.

As part of the second year of Green Football Weekend, owner Vince spoke with Mail Sport at Wembley. He had participated in a “Ready Veggie Cook-off” challenge alongside Joe Cole, Robbie Savage, and Levi Roots.

Nonetheless, Vince discussed his team’s recent struggles in League Two and reiterated that he will speak with Deeney on his critical remarks about the team.

“I believe it was an error,” Vince stated. “I believe he recognises that because I know he apologised for it.” I believe that conversation with the players was inappropriate. A few of the things he stated were simply incorrect, rude, and incorrect.

“I don’t think that’s the best way to lead a group of people or coach them.” I believe emotion was most likely the driving force. By the end of that game, he was frustrated, but things happen to humans.

Though I haven’t had an opportunity, I will talk to him.

“Those things have the potential to be a wake-up call or a shock, but there’s a chance that they could backfire and players become defensive because it was said in public, and I believe that’s where the error lies.”

Talk to the players clearly, of course, but saying it aloud is a whole other matter. It may go wrong, and if you say it in private, managers could lose the dressing room if they are too harsh for too long—at least that’s how I see it.

Jack Muldoon and Abraham Odoh scored two goals in the second half of Forest Green’s 2-0 loss to Harrogate Town on Saturday. The home team was jeered off the pitch at The New Lawn Stadium.

Following the match, Deeney openly expressed his intention to make changes to his team and blasted his players in the press.

“There will be many who won’t like it, but I was trying to cosy up to them,” he remarked. “The sledgehammers are going to have to come out.” “I’m not that concerned.”

“From top to bottom, there are currently too many babies.”

In response to a question about his evaluation of the game, he said, “Probably the same as everyone else.” A whole bunch of bullshit.

“A group of people hiding, afraid, and going about their own business.” Based on what I’ve witnessed over the last two years and eighteen months, I don’t understand why they are afraid. They ought to be accustomed to losing.

Vince acknowledged that the team’s on-field performances had fallen short of expectations and alluded to the prospect of making adjustments and additions during this month’s January transfer window.

“On the pitch,” he responded when asked where he needed to improve. “This season, even though everyone has been trying their hardest, you have to say that’s not good enough.”

Since we are in the January window, adjustments will be possible. We are engaged in yet another relegation struggle; although none of us would choose to be here, this is where we are!
